This is the best idea so far will have to do some investigating to find out how hard it would be to do.

Just don't be wanting to use the boot, there is none when the top is down. Spare wheel is in the center of the fuel tank & the top folds down around it.

Note in the Youtube one I posted they never show the rear view, it is almost the same (same designer) as it is not the best look.

If you are thinking of going the convertible route, I might be able to source you the convert windshield frame & the bracing section in the back for the top. If memory serves me correct there is one in my friend's wrecking yard in CA. I will be there early May.

The inner rockers & torque boxes are avail repo, so that is easy.

New convertible top frames are available too; saw them at capital classics.
From memory, that top came unstuck and retracted itself at speed.
