Re: Brandy has a friend

Re: Brandy has a friend
I have one picked it up about 5 years ago $400 to go on my XM wagon i have sice sold
I had a 250ci mild cam extractors and 289 autolite carb i put in my XT panelvan. My workmate had a XT sedan std 200ci with a 2v head std exhaust and all. He dragged me off like i was standing still.

Re: Brandy has a friend
Would a mod such as this pass the authorities for a learner/p plater? I could get one for me and then swap it back when he is of age to drive I suppose
"The simple answer is, even if I have decided I still don't know what to do."
Re: Brandy has a friend
Let's just say Lewy that I had seen it before and the guy didn't want to sell it and then a few months later he needed to, so I offered him a fair price and he took it. In my eyes it was just too good to pass up and i have always wanted to get one for my son as he loves them.Lewy47 wrote:I've always loved the XP. I do prefer them with an 8 but the 6 will be perfect for a young fella. Not that I care what you paid for it but I'm tipping you saw a bargain and grabbed it. Who lets a car like that go?
Steve's words were that if I didn't buy it then he would. Bought it 5 minutes later and so far so good. Touch wood as it is off to the mechanics next week for a thorough going over so I hope I don't find too many issues.
Re: Brandy has a friend
Nice buy cage, my 2 cents keep it as original as possible, you have your restomod, when the young fella is old enough to drive it let him do as he pleases, its a great feeling driving a restomod but just as good driving something that is original.
cheers chris.

Re: Brandy has a friend
Don't listen to em cage!! Rip that 200 head off and stick on something that breathes. or Why not build up an XF 4.1 with a decent cam, manifold, carb and extractors. I think the taller engine will fit.

Re: Brandy has a friend
It was a Australian Ford option on XY-XB 250 ci motors so not really a aftermarket thing, most authorities proberly couldnt tell as the head looks the same except it had a bolt on manifold rather than being casted as one with the head like other falcons and mustangs. It is a popular mod that the US 6cyl Mustang owners chase up from Australia.cage wrote:Would a mod such as this pass the authorities for a learner/p plater? Re: Brandy has a friend
Your son will have no issues with the authorities. As long as it's a 6 banger without forced induction, you should be fine.
Re: Brandy has a friend
What about the low and slow rockabilly look cage? You know blacked out everything, red rims, whitewalls, fluffy dice, black&white checkered firewall. 50's styling would look pretty cool but the car does look to be in too good a condition to do that to.
Re: Brandy has a friend
Thanks Scott definately food for thought as there is certainly not a great deal of power coming out of her at the moment but to be honest that is half the appeal in just cruising around. Knowing me though (keep your comments to yourself boys) I will get sick of that pretty quick and will look for some more power while keeping the 6 banger.scott66stang wrote:found a bit of info for ya

Lewy it is in too good of a nick to go and change it too much. I actually really like the colour so maybe a freshen up in the interior down the track will be all I will look to do in the short term.

Re: Brandy has a friend
These cars are like rocking horse shit Cage and you've scored a good one by the looks of it, personally I'd keep any mods to bolt on's.The xp looks to be fairly well optioned would have been a high dollar(or pound)car..on a less serious note I think you should hand over the keys now before you have any epiphany' s......
