Re: Caddy Wacked
3 months on and after a right old reaming from customs and the decontamination wash bay fees, she is finally in my driveway.
Didnt get much time after the arrival other than to get a few pics, and spend nearly an hour getting her started after the decontamination wash bay filled up the carby and distributor components with water. just needed to move it from out front to 40m down the drive to the shed.
Looks very solid underneath, has the normal 10 layers of paint and bog and god knows whats under that but that was expected and i promised myself i aint touching it......... yet.
The interior looks superb and the seats are so comfortable and roomy. All the glass looks in great condition and the windows wind up and down no problems.
The boot! i could fit 2 120l LPG tanks in there and still smuggle the family into the drive ins.
The motor finally started and runs really nice with no sign of smoke, it has a new chrome alternator as it has all been converted from 6 to 12v system new coil, dizzy cap, points and rotor, new leads but has old rusty Autolite plugs still in??? New carby with auto choke, in the boxes in the boot is a brand new front disc brake conversion including a chrome brake booster and mastercyl, however the original brake pedal is one that is pushed down into the floor, not a fire wall mounted pedal box type, so will have to look into that one.
Couldnt believe i found the missing boot caddy badge in one box of parts, which was as bad condition as the one i got on ebay.
The Kids cant wait till they start polishing the bumpers, neither can i
