When I mention KnockSenseMS, it's the viatrack.ca product modified to suit the MS.

Ok, I had been trying to find doco on it to find out if it was digital or analog. So MS just gets a signal to say there was a knock.. not the degree of knocking.

Too easy.

Looks like it works.
I attach the knock wire (pin5 of microsquirt, labelled as IAF) to the 5v on the TPS and the knock light comes on.

I've got a filthy noise issue though that keeps resetting the microsquirt when it's connected to the notebook. Also happened when I was trying to tune the bike all that time ago.

So now to buy the KnockSenseMS.

Excellent - watching along with your progress.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Finished off the mod today. Because I could only use a very small amount of solder, I was worried about vibrations.
I bought some of this stuff, and gave it a good coating. Works very well - definitely something I will use in future, even to cover other joints. It's great for places you can't fit heat shrink.

This is an example of how it comes out (I have already put the ECU back in the car before I got a pic).

By the way... will someone else please finish their car, so I'm not having to guinea pig all this stuff? :snigger:

Where did you get the Liquid tape from? It is a good idea. I will get some.

That liquid tape looks like a great idea. In days gone by we used a varnish to achieve similar results. When I got married I discovered nail varnish was more readily available and worked well also. :$

You're kidding Kerry, I've been trying to source that illusive replacement wiring harness smoke since I was an apprentice. Does it need a special service tool for installation, or do you just smear it on?
BTW, yes that liquid electrical tape is great stuff. Probably one of the better products available from Jaycar.

Mine is a US brand, bought it back when I came home after living in CA. Must get it out tomorrow to see what brand it is.
