I'm going to try wrapping one fuel rail in the silver self adhesive fibreglass matting this weekend and see how effective it is.
I've found the BMW guys use some sort of gold wrap/tape but that looks a little to NASA for my tastes.
You guys with return lines how did you implement a carbon canister to avoid fuel fumes?

Fuel fumes? It is a closed system, fuel going back to where it came from.lukep6470 wrote:I

I have fitted that system to heaps of injected cars, never an issue.

Re: Fuel rail heat soak problem
On newer cars, the fuel system is a lot more controlled than our cars.
Our cars generally breathe through the fuel cap, so there is no need for any carbon canister etc.

Re: Fuel rail heat soak problem
I would've thought after the fuel is heated going through the engine bay that the odour would be very strong at the back of the car. Especially if the tank is getting low.
From what I read while injecting mine this is a real safety issue.

Re: Fuel rail heat soak problem
No issues at all in that regard. Have never heard of that being a problem.

I am the same as Hybrid. No issues here.
No bad fuel smells - same as when the car was using a Carbi.

I will someday think of something clever to say.
