Poor naked girl. Steve, is there any way we can lower the seat rails so I can actually fit into the little beauty without my head hitting the roof. I am not exactly small. My head was hitting the roof the other day and the liner is not even on yet and when we fix up the seats with new padding etc I am guessing it will be a little higher again. Any ideas mate?

You can cut the seat risers up so they arent as high. The joys of owning a Fastback :moon:

I am starting to think that we should put new seats in like BA ute seats. More comfortable and the obvious safety reasons. F@cking confused mate. What to do?

Honestly, now is the time to do those sort of mods. The biggest problem is shaking the money tree. In the long run it is more cost effective to do it now & overall by the time you sort out your existing seats it is probably going to be a similar cost anyway.

What money tree? I have this problem where I get excited about stuff and forget about the money it will cost to do it. How long have I got to make this decision Steve? If the costs are going to be similiar then it probably makes sense to do it. What seat to use though the BA or ones like yours. Either way I am concerned about the height factor so my head doesn't hit the roof. SH!T

Height of the seats is obviously an issue too.

Not wrong Hybrid. Jumped in her the other day with no hood lining and pretty old flat original seats and my head was just touching the roof. I'm 6'3 so I am a little worried.

I was just thinking that the convertible would work. Too late now. May have to just lay the seat back a bit I suppose.

I mean the tops of the seats too.. not just you hitting your head.
You don't want the headrest of the seat being too close to the roof... might look a bit weird.

Spoke to Steve and he will chop the seat risers down which should help. Have a chance to buy BA Ute seats in leather trim for $600 from a local wrecker. Might be worth having a look since I am getting a complete floor pan replacement it would be easy to make them fit. What do you reckon Steve.

Its hard to see in the following pics, but these are things to look for when checking out a prospective purchase. The kink in the upper plenum looks like an innocent dent. A good rule when you see a dent in unusual spot is ask yourself how did it get there. In this case it is old accident damage caused by the front end being nailed, most likely hit in the right hand front & pushed across to the left. Often the obvious stuff is repaired & the less obvious is left alone. It is the less obvious stuff that is usually more serious to the integrity of the car.

That would be good advice for a "what to look out for" purchasing thread!
