We had them in TAFE in the 80's & 90's.

I used to teach using these systems (& Car-O-Liner, among others) so when one came up at a clearing sale in Cootamundra (Moe put me onto it), I grabbed it.

I have built 5 customer cars on it & now I am retired, will build a few for me.

You need to call in some of those favours you're clearly owed.

Having a another "talkfest" day at the ranch for all would be good.

We had a Men's Shed meeting here 2 weeks ago, so all good as far as logistics go.

So it really does not take that long then ;-)

To paraphrase where things are up to:
-Get car towed by farmer
-Have tractor use bucket to eat most of car
-Stick what is left of car on a frame robot thingy
-Remove rat's nest from talking boxes (I think he meant speakers but...)
-Photograph progress

Cheers

Thanks Jacko, can you please run this simplification each day so that the slow ones can keep up?

Appreciate it.

BTW, I still have not done your header panel ......

no worries, happy to help ;-)
Header panel is not an issue. I have not finished welding the panels in the floor/boot.

Once all the edges have been cleaned up, after removing all the last damaged sections, the rebuild begins. The lower RH A pillar gets a section made .......

The upper section also received treatment .......

To carry on .........

In preparation of the reassembly, I rebuilt the door hinges. Actually I rebuilt ALL the hinges (hood, trunk & doors) but only took a picture of the door hinges ......

Image

Next was to rebuild the firewall. It would have been easier to replace it, but as none were readily available & I only had a used 70 firewall here at the ranch, the repair option was taken.

1st picture was adding the lip to the top of the firewall. The lower plenum was used to determine shape.....

Image

Then the rest of the damage was either repaired or panel patches made .....

Now the firewall is in one piece, with the exception of the foot panels, I turned my attention to the trunk area .......

First, clean up the rails & realign ........

Then set the tie rail in place .......

I had made a section of trunk floor, so now was the time to tack it in place & add the LH trunk floor panel as well ......

Next step was to add the outer rear wheel arches. Knowing that wider rims & tyres possibly will be fitted in the future, I make the mods to the wheel arch while installing them.

Notice where I have hammered out a swage in the outer arch so the tyre will not rub if it gets up that high. Another mod is I cut off the flange around edge. That allows me to turn the edge of the quarter panel up around the arch, preventing cutting the tyre.
