Re: Nicks 68 Fastback Restomod
Thanks, always interesting to see what others do with the paint colour on inside of doors, some have the doors interior colour, some bring exterior colour inside. Are you painting the dash to max the exterior or interior. Sorry for all the questions

You would love this car Boof, The wiring setup is very trick. When are you down this way next? Cage tells me he your services may be required again.boofhead wrote:I really like your build. I could spend some time poring over all the modification you have made.
I will upload some progress shots later today.
Re: Nicks 68 Fastback Restomod
Looks to me Nick has done an A1 job. I like that fact it has been modified without loosing the mustang styling. I am sure I would love it.
Cage has asked a few questions - always happy to help if he needs a hand.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

The interior will be:ACTstanglover wrote:Thanks, always interesting to see what others do with the paint colour on inside of doors, some have the doors interior colour, some bring exterior colour inside. Are you painting the dash to max the exterior or interior. Sorry for all the questions
Dash painted in in 66 Mustang White (which is really an off white colour)
Seats (front and rear) trimmed in original Mustang 66 White vinyl - however the seat covers are all bespoke made as we modernised the design slightly.
The centre console is brushed stainless with original Mustang 66 white vinyl.
The carpet, dash pad roof lining, back panels, door cards are black (mostly mustangs to fear abs plastic)
Doors are painted body colour (I did have an internal debate as to the final colour they could have been black, white or exterior colour).
The dash trim (gauges etc is chrome and brushed stainless)
Accents on door cards are brushed stainless
The steering wheel is blue - but it is not a great match to the body colour - I may get this recovered or dyed (if that is possible) to be a better match.
As you will note there is no red in the design above!! As a dragons supporter - I have toyed with a big red V some where

It is not a real mustang if it does not have some sort of red in it somewhere sayseth the Lord! Amen!
Sort it out Nick, Maybe red side strips.

Cage - there is plenty of red in it!!cage wrote:It is not a real mustang if it does not have some sort of red in it somewhere sayseth the Lord! Amen!

1) I used redline oil for the diff
2) The centre force clutch preasure plate is orange (which is very close to red)
3) I used red wire when wiring the 12 volt supply to the stereo and gauge cluster
All in all it is pretty much a blue, white and red car
P.S> when it is done I may also have a toast with a bolttle of red wine. But generally I am a beer man, or Vodka (when I feel I need a headache) so that might not happen
