Been awhile since the last update , but I have had a bit of shed time and have stripped the motor for rebuild, it was a bit smokey the last time I ran it but was hoping I might get away with a hone and a set of rings, not to be.
Turns out the bores have a decent lip and are slightly tapered so oversized pistons are required, heads will need a little bit of work, big end's and main's were serviceable, cam bearings are toast had bits missing although only 1 cam lobe had any wear. So instead of a quick cheap rebuild I'll be doing the full monty but at least I should get what I want..
sorry about the photo's dunno how to turn the flash off on my phone..

Looks like a 429 / 460 to me. Not the original Windsor being pulled or the roller from the AU.

From the pics she does need some loving - Since your rebuilding her then a 557 would suite.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

anything Pete has owned for 20 odd years probably needs a bit of loving. :poke:

There was an AU motor destined for the horse but after having quietly been doing a cage for months (read to much time to think whilst doing reno's and all the other really, really important stuff for the wife) I decided to go back to plan A and drop my 429 into my fastback, had other plans in mind as well and may still go down that path at a later date but for the moment the plan is motor in, car on the road and enjoy.... :like:

the wife (of 20+ years) is busy looking up assassins in the phone book so look out nassi..... :poke:
