Oops, I lied about instructions being in the download section to connect to my tracking server.
The user manuals are in there, but the instructions to connect to the server you have to get from me.

[quote="hybrid"]In another thread here, they were listed as $165 inc GST, so I assume they would be the same price, although if you can get a group to buy all 7 I might be able to chat to him about a better price.

I think the ones we did in the group buy were $120 inc post, but again they were the lower model.

Edit: heres a link to the MVT380 user guide so you can see how its wired.

Hi Jeff,
We have the numbers now, can you ask re purchasing the 7 units?

Are all parties interested in the higher end units?

Ok, I have spoken to the old boss.
He's happy to take $120 +post each for them.

For this price though, you'll have to deal with the manufacturer for warranty.

He might even send them all to me and I will post out to you all - unless one of you want to volunteer to do that.

Jeff,
Would that be double postal cost if he sent them to you for distribution?

Well it would be whatever the cost to get to me divided by 7 units I guess.

Just to be clear - I don't really want to do it... I was just offering it up as a suggestion to simplify the logistics of it all for the old boss.
In fact, I don't want to get involved in another group buy at all. Just trying to help facilitate it.

If one of you wants to volunteer to run with it, I'm more than happy to put you in touch with him.

FYI I use Track My Ride, good price and works really well on Telstra's service too:

They previously used Vodafone but after complaints of poor coverage in some areas swapped to Telstra.

Not a bad option, although it looks as though it doesn't have any outputs (only 3 wires), so you couldn't disable the car etc.

Their website says they use an Optus sim now, not Telstra and you can't change it.
We use Optus for GPRS connectivity. Optus' network covers 98.5% of the Australian Population. When your vehicle travels outside a network coverage area Track My Ride will store all the tracking data and upload it automatically as soon as the vehicle returns to a network coverage area.

I must be special, as I've still got a Telstra SIM. Optus are miles better than Vodafone though, especially for regional coverage.
