Thank you gentlemen, I may well go down that path for FnL.
Pete next time you have one available to photograph could you please post it? Interested to see what is involved.

Come on Shaun, be fair. You Telstra boys didn't use brakes.Shaunp wrote:Dont waste your timenassi wrote:Thank you gentlemen, I may well go down that path for FnL.

Re: Dems the brakes
I am running that p valve in my Mustang.
Works fine.
Works fine.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
Re: Dems the brakes
And I'd be estatic to pay you a six pack for it.chopmgw wrote:Im assuming 71 brake lines are the same as 68 ?
Ive got one here that came with a chokostang 68 disc brake kit but was never fitted and its now gathering dust.
Id be ecstatic to get a six pack out of it atm.
Let me price some wheel cyls tomorrow and I will let you know
Out of interest, If I have Falcon master cylinder, Falcon calipers and Falcon wheel cyls, why do they lock up? Are the brakes too big for the weight? The drums are 10" x 1 1/2".
Re: Dems the brakes
As with Mustangs, the Falcon has various size wheel cylinders.

I thought you had 4 wheel discs?boofhead wrote:I am running that p valve in my Mustang.

Re: Dems the brakes
I do. I am still running that p-valve.
I pulled out/off the drums in which I had installed the 5/8 cylinders so I did not have a p-valve in the system. As such I added it so it was easy to adjust the rear pressures.
Note: I still have the drums (complete and basically new) including cylinders on a shelf.
Make an offer.

Re: Dems the brakes
OK.
Plan of attack # 2.
How easy is it to put Falcon rear discs on to it? Is an 8" and will prolly stay that way and using 15 x 7 wheels. And will that restore braking back to what you would expect from a Falcon around an XF vintage (i.e. pretty good)?
I am struggling to understand why my Falcon brakes (XB-ish on the front) and I presume very similar drums on the back are locking. Is the Stang lighter than the Falcon in the back?

Re: Dems the brakes
I have an XF/EA rear disc kit lying around that I didn't use. Has new discs and refurb calipers. You can have it for $100 plus postage if you like.
I have no idea how easy or hard it is to fit to something that isn't BW.

Re: Dems the brakes
COuld there be brake fluid/grease on the pads? That may make them grab.smh00n wrote:OK.
