I had to cut a hole for the drain on my Old Air hurricane system.

Re: 69 R Code
Well its getting closer!! Got it registed last week!! Had to have 2 does!!
Got knocked back for noise, 99db, had to be 96. No etching in door glass to say it was tempered. (repo stuff as original was lost in the fire. Got a letter to say it was). Engine number had to be on the block.(my vin was stamped on the head from the factory) Had a 220km round trip to get it inspected the second time. (first one they came here, but were not comming back for a month.)
Bit nervous taking on that long a drive straight out of the shed!! Had a few g/box issues, but pulled it and fixed that this week. also got a rattling lifter :'(
May stay that way for a while. Still got a few things to do, and it has to go back to the painters in the new year for some tidy up work and paint blackout. Will put the rest of the stuff on after that, stripe etc. but I've got plates!!!

Nice one mate.. it looks great.
Re: 69 R Code
Well, she is 99% finished now!! Couple of small jobs to do. Took it for its first road trip today to a country car and bike show about 2hrs from home.
Entered in the 1960 to 1970 class and picked up first place!!! Got to be happy with that. Was not built as a show car, just a tidy cruiser, so pretty happy.
Car ran fine on the trip, sat at around 200deg. (it was 34deg cel), put the air cond on, and just drove, sat on around 65mph at 2800rpm (3.5diff).
Did notice on the way home that the oil press gauge was reading low, Like down to 10psi!!! Turned out that whenever I turn the fan on for the air cond, oil press would drop?? Might have to find a new power souce for the guage me thinks, Bit worried for a while though!!
Thanks to all on here who helped a novice like me to get this far.
By the way. If you ever have to pull your spark plugs on an FE as I had to, no 6-7 fouled, save yourself some grief, and just pull the tappet cover off. Easy as to do that way!!
