Thanks for that, appreciated.Nuts wrote:About 30 amps on full lock and they are self regulating is what I'm led to believe. I recently saw one filled to an early falcon and the owner had no issues. We'll see. Let you know in a couple of weeks. Haven't chucked the old pump.....yet

Re: Project Blue
It will be interesting to see if my 100 amp alternator will cope with my fuel injection & pump, thermo fans etc

If my will yours will. Let you know in a couple of weeks.

That's all I have.
Re: Project Blue
Me too a 100AMP single wire finest cheapest.
Re: Project Blue
Offtopic, but with the 1 wire alternators, it pays to take the voltage sensor wire, extend it and run it up to your fuse box or distribution block.
I was having a few dramas recently with the voltage to the haltech ranging from 13.8 to 14.7 volts. I had changed to a single wire alternator when I put the novi on. The voltage sensor wire is usually run to the stud on the alternator for 1 wire ones, so it is only reading the voltage that the alternator is putting out at the alternator.
The laptop was showing the voltage fluctuating, and when the lights turned on it would drop a little also. But the alternator stud was showing a steady 14.7 volts even though the voltage further down stream was fluctuating. The alternator wouldn't react to the fluctuations as it wasn't seeing then, due to the sense wire being on the alternator stud.
I extended the sense wire from the stud on the alternator, and moved it down to my power distribution point. Voila, steady as a rock 14.7 volts always, even with everything turned on. I would recommend anyone with a 1 wire alternator which has a sense wire on it, to extend it to their distribution point/fusebox, especially if you have an efi system.

Nice tip gents. Thanks Husky.
Re: Project Blue
Ah ok. I have all new (At the time) wiring from the Alt direct to the battery and from the battery to my distribution box.
I did have an issue though where the Microsquirt would cut out if I had the idle set too low (600rpm) and the lights and AC were on as well as the fan. Another 50 rpm fixed this. Of course the 347 with the mid flight cam should never see under 800 so not a problem for it.

Yep when I find the right set and the coin. I was thinking about painting up a blue set.. But then I would need to paint the heads.
