RIP Shed Girl - big dogs always struggle to reach old age, our 2 German Shepherds will only get to 10 or 11.

Previous one made it to 17 - he was a freak tho.

New little buddy should be just fine - won't give you a dead leg either...

Sorry to hear it Nassi - have fun with the new mate.

Our blue healer lasted 15. My friends Shepard lasted 9 years until his back went.
The Husky lasted 15. The Labradoodle is on her last legs at 15 (no more than a year - it is hard when they get old) but the Groodle is going well just 5 years old. Always say your not going to get another one but you do and feel better for it. Does not diminish the time with the previous mate.

I have been lucky enough to have some awesome dogs over the years and love them all very dearly. Cage was a rotty that unfortunately only lasted to 6 due to a tumour, Brandy was a red cattle that lasted to 13 so I was very lucky there.

I still have my last dog that passed a year ago with me in ashes in the lounge room, she was a black lab called Holly that made 16 and I currently have a labradoodle called Jazz that is 7.

Nothing beats them Nassi and the photos and memories stay with you.

Your new mate looks a champion. Again very sorry for your loss.

Thanks Cage, her name was Frank and she was very frank. Never a security problem when she was around.
The new girl is Ziggy, no idea why as I forgot to ask her old owners. She is 7 months old and VERY undisciplined so we are having a really good time at the moment.
It will all be worth it though.
