Keep your receipt & fit 'em up as soon as you can to see if your happy or not.
I paid next to nothing for them as I got them through work, its too late to return them, I'm not worried though, they seemed to be the general "vibe" for the 65s and 66s, they are standard for 6 cyl and low for V8 from memory.

If theyre too low, ill just pull them out and send them to old made blacksmith when he resets the rears, we're only talking beer for payment :P

If they are too low you'll put them on ebay and buy another set they are only like $130 new. Cost you more to reset them than buy new ones.

I think im going to run an AU Falcon Radiator, Thermos and Condensor.
Every AU we have had has had ice cold air con, so using a condensor from one is a start :)

Here is a pic of one in an XM or XP?

wrote:Radiator - I've used an AU unit. Have to drill 2 holes in top of your front chassis rails to suit bottom pegs. Use AU factory upper mount brackets bolted to radiator support. By doing this you can use factory AU rad hoses, just shorten the ends to suit shorter XM/P engine bay. For a recovery bottle/air purge, used a remote mounted unit from a Camira (not shown in pic) mounted just higher on engine bay wall than rad inlet. I'm using the factory 5.0 engine belts & fan and all fits like a charm. The fan shroud is an XF unit trimmed to suit the AU rad.
For the rad overflow I will probably make up a tubular tank like you can get on ebay, only with a pressure cap.

I have sourced my diff!!! :D

Its out of an R31 skyline but is the same as EB-AU Falcon, VN-VX? Commodore.
Its a 28 spline 3.89 ratio but I will use the LSD centre from the fairlane in it which is 3.23.
I am going to put the fairlane brakes on it and have the stud pattern redrilled, it's common to use these in toranas as they are only 1460mm wide, they put commodore pattern on them, I'll put a ford pattern on it.

Why not use the skyline brakes and the handbrake cables and lever? I used the lever and cables but not the diff.

Well, skyline is 4 stud, and technically once I get the axles redrilled, the falcon brakes and rotors should go straight on, and falcon rotors are 5 stud out of the packet. Seems common with 5 stud r31 conversions, and it seems the falcon brakes are larger so it would suit in with my front brakes

Got into a few repairs today,
The bottom of the LH Front rail was a little rusty... FIXED NOW :)

And ground off the shock to firewall support brackets to make way for the chrome export brace:

I had a play around with the Brakes, falcon brakes are much bigger, this shows the skyline rotor on top of the falcon one:

Falcon left, skyline right:

Falcon pad left, Skyline right:

The falcon brake backing plate doesnt bolt straight on, but the bolt holes aren't that far off.
This is the falcon backing plate on the bottom, and skyline one ontop:

And falcon left, Skyline right:

AND FINALLY THE COLOUR IT WILL BE.... CLOSE YOUR EYES SO THE ADJUST......

I cannot believe it.
The XE Falcon i scored for the stub axles and front brakes a while ago had girlock alloy calipers on it as it was this guys project and he had obviously put them on it. So what do I do, have the stubs and calipers laying around for 6 months, thinking they're PBR cast calipers, buy a set of XF girlock calipers off ebay. Oh well, just another set to rekit and polish up.

Shayne,
be careful trying to swap the centres on that diff. Those BW housings are different internally between open and non-slip. I found out the hard way. ;(

You may also find the fairlane has the large crown wheel and the skyline the small one., again another variation to the housing.

What diff do you have in the car now?

Mustang had a 6 cylinder 4 stud diff.

What centres in what BW diffs were you swapping around?
The fairlane has a 3.23 ratio and the skyline 3.89

We were attempting to fit a 3.45 LSD centre, into a 2.92 open centre's housing.

I've read about that issue. The crownwheel is too big because you are going from small to big. I am going big to small.

Have a search around on the VL (Yes I know, I won't condone anything else VL because, well, they're a VL) or the R31 skyline forums.
Oh shit, sorry Jeff and Kerry, I promoted other forums. Don't shoot me!
