quick question. I removed the rusted sections of the drivers side toeboard on the weekend.

What is the little 2 inch tab that is within the frame rail(which supports the toeboard.)

thanks

Rob
The one at the top of the rail? It gets 2 MIG plug welds through the toe board to that tab.

Yes that is the one.. Was confused as the toeboard came away easily as if there was no weld .

Thank you.

Hi,
back for an update.
Here is what i cut out of the drivers side floor and toeboard.
Image
This is what i finished with.

Image
Not up to the standards of some of the professionals on here but with a little more flapper disc action should be quite flat.

I have a question about the floor coating. I was going to use Penetrol CIP http://www.floodaustralia.net/products/ ... ol-CIP.php
which is red oxide coloured primer over the whole floor. Do you think it would be ok to leave or do i need to topcoat it? Does anyone have experience with this product?

thanks

Hi Guys,
still here playing :-D

i painted the dash in satin black and finally coated the floor with Penetrol CIP a red oxide coloured metal sealer/primer. It is very translucent. Even with 2 coats. It seems to work like Xtroll.
I will then overcoat it with a silver paint for uniformity after i replace the seam sealer.

Obviously i need to do the doors as well.
cheers

Whats under my bonnet is not for looking at, at car shows.
It's just what makes the tyres go 'round.

True but when i spruce up the engine bay , i need to clean the engine as well- clean the cam, the heads, the ceramic coated headers
I can't have a dirty engine in a clean engine bay ! " can I my beautiful wife"

Hopefully the "clean" engine will make my wheels go round alittle quicker...
