That is the OEM color on the PS pump.... black was also used in some plants, forget all the mix and match of color/year/plant.

The engine will be hit again once final assembly is done, just finger tight together (manifolds, valve covers, water pump) to get some of the bits from being scattered all over the shop and my shed in one place....

Mert I'm doing a Mk9 Jag engine for a bloke and it still had the original blue metallic down the V of the head, I went down to MPA and found a colour chip pretty close and got 250ml mixed up for about $30. Why not do that, I'd have some flat 2k clear, if you don't want it too glossy, I got to head down for some supplies this week.

I think repaint it. It will stand out like dogs bollocks on the freshly painted engine if you don't.

I can get Prestige to color match it for me. Just a PITA for a one off small part, as the color is not available in rattle can.

Maybe I'll strip all the PS pumps and a couple spare housings I have do a lot of 4 or 5, as to mix up enough for one or a dozen is the same cost...

A bit of a hiatus in the logs.... but she's back in paint!

This was Friday, Saturday to vinyl top went back on. A mid-range difficulty rating one-person DIY job...

Some time off work as the office shuts down for two weeks. A couple days in the shop and some progress... vinyl roof on and headliner in...

If I can find all my window clips the glass should be in Friday!

Wow, looks nice!

I guess that's what a professional headliner install looks like

Thanks.

Once the glass goes in and the visors, dome light and other bits stretch it out a bit more... a bit of touch up with light heat and it should look pretty good.

A couple of hours to get the headliner in...

Great job on that headliner mert.
I dont know what it is about vinyl roofs on these old coupes, but I love em.
Did u do the vinyl roof urself ?
Watched the trimmer put mine on.
Definitely an art to it.
He made it look so easy.

Yep, DIY as much as I can. On this one other than post strip body/paint it is all me. No engine or trans rebuild, just remove clean/detail and put back in...

More (slow) progress....

Engine bay almost ready to drop in the engine.

Front suspension in place, needs torqueing and a few adjustments.

Front and rear glass in and trims on.

Fuel tank in, need to clean underside before installing new lines (did not repaint underneath, fairly clean original so left the red oxide and some old grubby stuff...)

Next, doors, fenders and hood. Then paint hood stripe, buff and stripes.

Then finish interior, steering, drop in engine and trans.

Still need to pull the rear end and clean/paint it and the rear leafs. Bad sequence, but it just worked out that way...
