Hmmm.... couldn't justify the extra for the TCP ones. Have ordered some moog bushes. Will be up for a wheel alignment, so there might be a few more bits to go in.... :help:

Where did you get the Moog bushes from?
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Looks like some water go in there at some stage. Not unusual though clean it up is a good move.

Blood from the factory worker's hands. Not sure, but it looks that red in the metal.

Oil pickup was touching the bottom of the sump. Don't think it was bent, but will investigate a replacement to be on the safe side.

I've never built an engine but it looks to me like someone has probably given each bolt a quick squirt of spray paint as they have toqued the bolts to spec.

Tend to agree with you XP.

Moe the pickup looks fine. Just measure how it will fit in the new sump. Then take it off and clean the screen.

Minor update... bought a new oil pickup. Will be installing that. Turns out the original one was bent (in comparison with the new one). Ended up being $35 delivered.

Strut rod bushes have also arrived from the US.

Woohoo- finally some progress. new sump and pickup fitted. new strut rod bushes fitted.

Stupid Mach 1 sticker on trunk has been removed.

It starts and no engine oil leaks!
Now to sort out the power steering leaks and get it steering better.

Think it might be the control valve. Pump was just about empty from duggo to Canberra. Was topped up at duggo.
Around town, I top it up every couple of days. But it has been sitting now for a few months.

Is that one I rebuilt? or is it undisturbed?
