I personally wouldn't leave it on the stand until it goes back in. I would buy/build a frame with wheels so it can be moved around.

Actually the engine was fully rebuilt over in the U.S. by a friend of mine who has a Mustang restoration business... and while I don't know any of the specs of the rebuild, I trust his choices and combination of parts.

This is Bryan (in Florida) who sold the car to me as well as rebuilt the engine:

Yeah, mine did the same thing. Looks similar. It's held 3 FEs for up to a month or more with no ill effects....

I think if you get the shorter bolts and tighten it up it may help avoid some sag in the system.

Sorry for the lack of information... but as I don't know any of the specs there is no point of saying anything...

I *would* like to build an engine run-in type of frame so I can mount it with the transmission, radiator, exhaust headers (or extractors) etc... and make it an adjustable engine frame for other engines...

I have pictures of a few designs but no actual plans... so I may have to just have to slap something together...

It's good to know mine isn't "standing out in the crowd" but actually has happened to other people... gives me a little bit of confidence BUT I still think getting it closer to the ground would make me happier :)

C7AE-A heads, C6ME-A block. probably a 2U crank, all standard stuff for a 67 390. One would assume a overbore, 0.020/0/0.030.

Looks like a stock C7AE-E cast iron intake.

As its already rebuilt I'm guessing you are just going to detail it, not tinker? Wrap it in a plastic bag and it will be fine for a long time.

One thing I did to support the engine while sitting was to put a 100x100 block across the two legs of the lift under the oil pan. Then put small hydraulic jack on it, a block of wood under the pan and pumped it up a bit to take some load. Sat that way for a long time with no issues...

If you are keen you can look at all the date codes on the cast parts to compare. Blocks in '67 were not VIN stamped so if you need one for rego the best thing to do is stamp the factory correct on the boss on the rear pad.

I gave JBB my engine cradle and as far as I know he is not using it. Give him a call- all it needs is some wheels.

Yes... the cast iron intake manifold has already been replaced with a MUCH lighter aluminium one (fitted in the U.S., but I also kept the original cast iron one), I can tell you... trying to lift the original manifold out of the trunk... I almost popped a pooper valve lifting it

I will make a few changes; I'm going to electronic ignition and... replacing the alternator with an internal regulated unit.

Thank you for the idea Mert, I'll place a support under the front end of the engine until I sort out some sort of engine cradle.

...anyone got a set of stamps I may borrow please, so I can stamp this block?

Excellent!! :D

I don't suppose you have time to drop in for a cuppa, a game on a pinball machine and to hold the stamps as I swing the hammer wildly with a blindfold on (or even without the last bit)?? :poke:
