Erindale College in Canberra, Technology teacher (Auto, Furniture, Metal, CADD and Graphic Design) an Yr12 Exec so I have some nice toys including a wood cnc mill (can do aluminium, just need time for practice), Metal Mill, lathes, Mig, Tig, sandblaster, press, 3d printer etc and a hoist! Also free access to a pool and Gym and shops next to us. Lovely location, great college (Yr 10-12) and 4 minutes from home so handy on weekends!

Bummer, they were going to deliver it Monday, I told IPEC to ring me 30 minutes before, meet me at the front and I would help them find the back of the college. Tuesday I'm out all day at Moderation day and there was 180 English teachers at the College and my motor turned up unannounced at the front of the college and the guy wanted to bring it in on a pallet jack through all the visiting teachers - the boss goes wtf? I even rang IPEC on Tuesday to send a reminder message to the truck driver! Not happy Jan, I'm laying low for a couple of days and might have to buy the boss and BSM a six pack of imported beer each! The BSM has been whinging a bit lately about all my car parts that keep turning up at the front office - wait till the carby, manifold and headers turn up next week! Ouch, maybe a case each? Oh well, at least Sal will be happy!' When I finally get to talk to him tomorrow morning I'll probably have to offer him a lift in Sal to his restaurant of choice with his lady!

Hybrid, Dan got back to me on why B&M Hammer shifters void warranty on his AOD boxes:
'1) he is lucky if he is running a MVB
2) it is probably slightly messed up and he doesn't know it.

From the article: The throw ratio of the hammer is not correct for the transmission. If it does work, then you got lucky...
...just in case though. Or to prove me wrong, align the shifter in P or 1 instead of D. Now see what you get. What you get is a transmission that won't go to Park, or won't go to 1, you need to flatten the lever on the bottom of the shifter to make it longer.

The way I always line up my shifters and check their operation is to put the box in park, shift to park. Line the linkage up. Then switch straight back to 1st and make sure it lines up there. You'd know straight away if it was wrong because you wouldn't be able to slip the linkage on and off once you'd shifted to another gear.
I regularly use all the gears and have never had an issue.
Maybe that's why they supply a new arm for the gearbox end when you buy an AOD hammer. Maybe people are putting them on without it? Maybe I'm the only one with a good one?
The upper parts of that shifter setup looks the same as mine, but the bottom doesn't look like mine from what I remember. It's been a while.
Anyway... I don't have his box, so I shan't be calling him for warranty.

Yes, you'd know by now if you had a problem! Must be a lot of people who don't properly check and think near enough is good enough, and then bitch about a product because they didn't install it properly!

My engine bay (at the moment) waiting for some paint, rewiring and battery relocated to fit the 24" radiator. And the pressie that arrived Tuesday and upset the Boss!
Now all I need is aod bits from Dan to install before the engine goes in.

I don't recall the college but I did my time in Canberra in the late seventies tearily eighty in the RAAF. Some years later I found myself as a technician at Karratha college in WA. Enjoyed that for many years, sort of wish for that type of roll again. I hope your boss enjoys the dinner when it all happens. The E0 would indicate to me it was a 1980 AOD.
Edit: found the S is for Thunderbird/Cougar and the P is the end part of the transmission.

Hey Ed, not sure if it's been discussed. What is the balance of your new engine Zero, 28oz or 50oz? Remember the driveplate and balancer must match the crank balance.
