69 TILT WHEEL INDICATOR SWITCH

Post by Nuts »

Hey Guy's, Rockerfella's indicator switch on his 69 is up the fritz and needs to be replaced however..... it's a tilt wheel and all switches for tilt wheels are obsolete. I have located the last remaining 67 tilt switch. Does anyone know if this will fit???

Any views short of swapping out the column?

Yeah Mate, the switched is physically broken where one of the horn contacts are. The horn contact is also an ex horn contact. infact the whole switch appears to be an ex switch. I could probably glue the broken bits together but because it's under constant pressure from the horn contact, I really don't think it will last. Another option is maybe use a standard switch and forget about tilt.

They have a few options for you:

Standard 68-9 tilt version

or buy their non tilt version/67 tilt or 70 tilt and modify that...

Nice find but it looks different. Looks the same as the 67 one. Will wait and compare on Saturday.

Success!! :-D The 67 Switch fits in just fine but had to enlarge the cavity for the lever mechanism. I learned on Thursday that the 67 switches are also obsolete ie Scott Drake no longer supply them. Whether that means their supplier has stopped making them, I don't know. Anyway, Rockerfella's a happy Rocker!!

Dman right i am!! New tiller looks great in there, and no smoke this time! Also nice to have a horn that works every time you hit it, as opposed to my previous one, which honked maybe 60% of the time. Cheers Nuts!

yep - found out today that the difference is reportedly the diameter of the hole. Now you need a console...
