Not quite a muscle car

Post by 66GT-VERT »

Just picked up a RX7 series 3.
Just going to fix up a few dents and redo interior, may pull motor out clean up engine bay and freshen up donk.
Don't know much about rotary's other than they scream there tits off and wear out quick :)
Hard to believe it's nearly 30 years old, i remember them coming out new and all the furore about Moffat racing one.
Back in those days a touring car was suppose to carry a family of 4 and pull a caravan, well i guess the RX7 could carry a family of midgets but think she would struggle pulling a caravan.
Most likely sell it later to maybe fund a new project

Series 3 13B.
More than likely wont go to overboard on the engine, if i do pull it down will get a mild port done so it attracts the crowd who like that BLAT BLAT sound.
Could allways just gut it and take it drag racing mmmmm theres a thought

sounds good, dont see very many at all around these days. I think they all fell apart, the dash components seemed to anyway.

Mild port won't do the real "blat blat" sound.
You need a bridge or J port for that, but I wouldn't do it. Stick to mild port and the engine can still be turbo'd easily by somebody later.

The engines wearing out is a bit of a myth these days. If your oil injection is set up correctly it should have a pretty good service life.
