Rear Axle seal and Idler arm help - recommendation?

Hi All
Took my 66 convertible over the pits this morning for rego - only a couple of things to fix, but one that I haven't had success with myself .
Rear LH axle seal was leaking when I got it - replaced it and found that a previous attempt by past owner (?) had slightly scored the bottom of the housing - probably when trying to get an old one out.
New seal still leaks, even with generous sealer around it, so looking for a recommendation for a workshop who could help. I'm in Perth.
Also, how hard is it to adjust the bushing on an idler arm? One of mine is a little loose and it looks like (from a quick look) that I may be able to just push the bushing back up into place.
All thoughts appreciated.
Thanks
Matt
