Lismore Show 7th August

Post by m67gl »

Went to the Lismore Show and Shine today. 200 cars on display with many more coming to have a look. Lots of small local clubs attending making a real mix of years and makes. Donoauto was coming along until he heard there was a 10 % chance of rain. Not sure what the weather was like around the country, but it was sunny skies and 20 degrees here.

Our small club took home two trophies and that was without the 67GT390 (being detailed for sale) and the concourse 68GT500 which usually bags a trophy.

23B, neat cars. I restored the chassis on Dan Gurney's 23B a few years back in California. Most came with 1.5 - 1.6 liter Ford engines, Dan Gurney's was the first with a 289.

This one was a 4 cylinder, dual twin carbs. Not much to thoem with the fibreglass pulled back. must have lots of faith in those chassis.

Most were 4 cylinders as they were built for the UK racing market. As for the chassis, Colin Chapman had a reputation for building strong frames.

The 23B chassis here...

After restoration, racing at Monterey CA....

Damn, missed by a week.
We stayed in Byron last weekend, had lunch at Lismore after driving through Nimbin with the windows up and the doors locked.

Would you believe that cook is still in hospital until tomorrow, talk about manflu- and she has the hide to say I'm banging it on when I'm crook!! lmao. Batching used to be awesome until someone threw a near 2 y.o. into the equation. :(
(PRAYER) Oh thank you Wild Turkey American Honey & Cola in those small thin bottles, for giving me the strength to act like a half wit, and say stupid things at inappropriate times, semi-anonymously, on a public forum.
Amen.

I didn't want to say that you were playing nurse at home. Next thing you know there'd be a pic of you in a spunky nurse uniform 8O and we'd have to dig out our retinas with the closest sharp object :dance2:

BTW Car started noticeably better with the new dissy, thanks.
