Park brake nylon guide

Lying under the fastback for the last few weekends gave me an opportunity to really check it out- between breaths (the gearbox is a heavy sucker).
The park-brake cable branches out from the park lever to either side rear wheel drum. Looking closely at one side I noticed a small nylon 'block' about 4mm square stuck to the udnerside of the floor pan. 'Wonder what that was for' I thought as I reached for it. Bugger me if the thing is not magnetic with a C profile facing toward the ground.
It looks like this thing is used to keep the park cable off the floor pan. Having a magnetic base allows you to move it to suit the route of the cable. Anyone ever seen these before?
