3rd Canton Fair trip

Canton Fair for October starts on the 15th for Phase 1.

I am thinking that we would want to be in Dongguan on Friday 12th, so a night flight the day before would see those leaving SYD on Thursday evening (could be earlier date, see below)

That then allows some rest on the Friday before venturing to Hollywood Baby Too on the Friday & Saturday nights.

Fair final registration for any new people coming could be completed on the Sunday.

The 2nd phase also interests me, however you can either plan on a flight back out of Hong Kong on Sunday 21st (landing in SYD on the morn of 22nd) or stay the extra week & do the 2nd Phase of the Fair & fly home on Sunday 28th (landing on the 29th)

If you are even thinking of coming, start the registration process after contacting me. Registration is free for businesses, however if you do not have one I can attach you to mine.

In between the Phases we will be doing some factory visits & maybe the trip could be a few days earlier to allow factory visits beforehand. Keep watch on this thread for changes & updates.

This is a fully escorted tour & if you need to know what the others thought, PM or call them. Basically everything is arranged from takeoff in Sydney to landing back in Sydney.

Would you expect pricing to be around the same as the recent one?

I think initially you indicated round the $4k mark for airfares, accom and tours.

Obviously this would change depending on length of trip...

The shorter trip would come in under the AU$4K, but allow that. The longer one allow AU$5K. I will have firmer figures closer to the time.

That does not include spending money as I have no idea how much you drink .....

However, again if anyone is even thinking of this or future trips, register with the Fair now.

We just did Phase 3, was OK, but I would give a miss in future. As usual Steve did find something useful, quite shocking actually ......

Hmmm, okay, just emailed myself at work to check leave schedule and that should be the only hurdle right now...

Not an issue Craig... The only issue is do we tie it in as a family trip with a few days ahead of Canton in HK or not...

I would suggest after, as the weather will be more predictable (Monsoon season over)

Probably not an option Kerry due to other schedules already in play...

I will be in HK & then China a couple of weeks before the others arrive. I go that way to San Francisco as that gives me an extra stay in China for no extra airfare.

So if I know when you would be up there, I would be happy to show the family around for a day or two (so you then would know your way around). Things like good central hotels, market places & sight seeing, all easy for me.
