FatKids Mustang Ute

Post by shermatt »

After all this talk of mustang ute's I finally decided to pull the old girl out of the weeds down at the old yard.

Have decided to convert to V8 and while I was down at Romeo's workshop last week I accidently borrowed this front end that he had...way I see it...F him.

Cut out all the suspension and shock towers today exposing a little rust in the rail. Not something I hadnt predicted I would find...she's got rust through out.

Had a fair bit of scrap steel left over for a 4 stud, 6 banger car (anyone want it?)

Now she sitting on the trailer ready for the new front end (that I borrowed of Romeo) to go on. Have to swap out the 65 steering column for a 67/68 but should hopefully get it all done tomorrow.

Going to do it while Im working on the 68 "S" code convertible tomoz

Will try and keep the pics coming.

Throwing in a 302 with a top loader, still debating about this whole satin black thing, definately going to tunnel ram it.....thats where Im at

Top Stuff Matt  Bloody Rust always spoils at quick build.
That front end will look better on the ute rather than that "Weally Burrowed" frame from Romeo. :f:

Should be a cool little work ute. Great for advertising coz people just stop and stare at it even in primer

Were getting our new companies Logo splashed down the side with what the call a "wrap".

They basically......tell ya what...heres there website link (DONT SKIP THE INTRO)...its pretty cool

http://www.extremegraphics.net/

and heres a BMW that has been wrapped

http://www.extremegraphics.net/signs-ba ... estors.jpg

I like the american flag idea....but Im to Ozzie.....I would have to convert a few of the stars to the southern cross and really highlight them

Im tottaly stuck for ideas for a colour scheme on the car. Interior is black with black and grey Recaro seats. Chrome dual quad tunnel ram out the hood, GT fog lights and GT Twin exhaust valance.

Then theres the tray...some people are saying wood, some chrome checker plate and I want to put in dividers to turn it into an esky and portable barbie

Any ideas?

Finally got around to posting the pics from 2 weeks back

Front end all fitted now. Running a set of 2007 Mustang Bullet style wheels from a GT. Using a standard 8" 5 stud diff running 1 1/2" spacers on the back...fronts just bolt straight on.

Welded in a new floor for the drivers side, pressure washed the under chassis and shot it with Rhino liner for apperance

These are the only pics I have at the moment. Will get more soon

havent had a chance to finish off to many projects over the last few months as Im in a different part of the US every 2nd day but I did find 1 day to throw the ute together quickly and this is where it has sat since October 1st

Front end is all in. New tank and lines. Slapped a drivers floor pan patch panel on the floor (american style), painted the under chassis with black Rhino liner, cleaned up the interior and fitted most of interior with its new colour scheme to see how its looks

I think it came up TITS with the colour combo and the Tan leather recaro seats. Not in a hurry to finish it but I will keep the pics coming if I find the time to finish it.

Next project now is a 68 S code convertible (and then thats it)....NO MORE PROJECTS.
