Number plate size to suit 67 fb - NSW

Post by gbx78 »

Just wondering what size or style number plates you guys with 67-68 FB's have.

I know we touched on number plates in another thread but i dont think the sizes were discussed. So i dont miss out on yet another combination im going to order my plates and put them in storage but im not sure what size plate is best for these cars. I thought perhaps the standard Black with white writing size as its big and looks old school .. however i dont mind the slim design black background and silver/grey writing as ill have silver striping. I did think to go silver background and black writing but unless the striping matches the plate colour it will just look crap i think..

anyway .. i wouldnt expect anyone to stick their plates up but just some feedback as to what would work would be good.

cheers

Not sure if you can get this size over there..

Even with std size plate, I had to space the plates off the car, else they had to be bent to fit in the recess..

Not sure if you plates have the same holes either, but the std holes dont line up with those on the mustang..

You can just see the brakets I made..

hmmm just seeing that pic made me realise i wont be using a standard front valance so i will have to go the slim style for the front similar to what you have there but shorter in length .. and the rear is the bigger version but not soo slim

Get Steve to change the rear bumper to suit the plate size you select.

Not hard esp if painting the rear bar or re-chroming

Yeah, depending how your valance is setup.. you'll need brackets from somewhere.. (Rad support maybe)

I can have a look through my photos to find ones I took of a Shelby.. else someone with an E car may be able to chime in..
No doubt Kerry has a solution.

Can you not get US style plates in down there? In QLD you can but they have to personal 3 letters 2 numbers in any colour you want. I was thinking of getting black with yellow letters like a Cali plate. altough black with gold would look nice.

US platesHey NSW fellas, Myplates now has a US sized licence plate available. Thought you may want to know. Assume they fit on the rear bracket that no one uses.
