Importing of a Mustang from the US

Hi
I have seen a couple 1970 Mach One's for sale through dealers in the US. Both are on the Hemmings Website. One is with a Dealer in Houston Texas and the other is with a dealer in Palm Springs California. Obviously my concern with buying through a Dealer in the US is that I am paying a premium (Dealer Profit).
I am not in a position to head over to view both cars and this being my first Mustang purchase I am looking for assistance/recommendations in relation to using an Australian Business that sepcialises in the inspecting, transporting, customs clearence and associated paperwork that would enable me to know that when it clears customs it can be collect for delivery to my mechanic for a NSW Roadworthy and full registration with no fuss. I would rather have a professional do all this work for me and know that I will have a Mustang that can be registered with ease.
Also looking for costs and timeframes to do this.
Regards

Welcome to the forum,

I’m sure many others will also offer some free advice, so sit back and take it all in, if not for anything else, you will get some views (good and bad) to base an informed decision on how you proceed.

Firstly, though you might want to consider Ozbilt (Kerry’s) 69 Mach 1 as its local and looks like a great buy.

It’s on the forum dashboard and maybe worth you reading about it. I guess it all depends on your budget - what are you wanting to spend ?

But if you still intend to source one from the USA then my advice is to either get a trusted “independent” person to personally inspect the car or fly over yourself to inspect.

I can speak from my experience when I purchased my car I was not willing to buy from the USA without having someone that I felt that l could trust to inspect it.

Shermatt , who is on this site from time to time, is based in Tampa Florida and he looked after us and maybe worth you talking to Matt ….let me know if you want his number it’s what they do for a living.

Cheers

I was thinking of Kerry's 1970 FB he has there. Though either would be an excellent choice. He can certainly get either to rego and you can be sure the work will be of the highest standard.
