1966 Coupe Project

Post by DAVE66COUPE »

Hi There,
I am new to the forum as well as Mustangs in general ( Defected from Holden Toranas ) So thought I would post it up for general interest

May be a slow project but I will try to update it whenever it moves forward. Presently I have stripped it to a shell and am trying to raise funds to get it off to the panel beater.

Specs are originally a C-Code 66 289 3 speed manual
Candy apple red and most of its life was spent in Arizona .

It needs a lot of work but luckly the Arizona
climate has greatly limited the amount of rust. It does however have a lot of bodgy repairs that need sorting out .

Bit of a novice on forums too so if my photo's dont load I will
try again later.

Your using Photobucket so thats a good start, you need to select the "IMG Code" just copy and paste to your post. Easy as.

Look forward to your build, ask away for any advice.

Hi There,

Thinking modified but with a classic look

e.g Colour still Red but not Candy Apple , It came with a 302 that was
suppose to have been recoed which I might reuse , keeping it Manual
but thinking T5 .

Interior was black but I have ordered TMI Pony Sport II Upholstry
in Parchment colour and for wheels probably Magnum 500's

Cool, I like your plans, the T5 is a good idea and not hard to do.

Hi Dave
Nice looking project. If you need a hand with anything let me know. I am on the south side and there are others scattered over the territory.
BTW, can you weld ;-)
Cheers

Looks like a nice project and a good plan.
Please ignore Kerry's comment about going "off topic", I think he has been smoking his tea leaves again.
No one would hijack a thread on this forum...............

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry about it being a slow project, most of them are. And no matter what the others guys say, the 65-66 are the best model. :spoton:

Any Mustang owner who has Defected from Holden Tranas is a dead set Buddy! :like: Welcome to the Happy Place my friend. As Jacko said, we're here to help/question/interfere as long as you don't mind a bit of verbal abuse.

Seriously, we're all nuts about mustang and if you need any assistance don't hesitate to yell out..

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the offers of help , most appreciated and bound to need help at
some stage. In regards to "can I weld" Unfortunately No but the upside is I have a very good friend who is a panel Beater with lots of Mustang experience. He has already been kind enough to inspect the car before I purchased it . His evaluation was roughly " Doesn't look pretty but a real good one to start with" e.g straight rust free rails and the cowl was ok as well. Only bugger is that someone thought the left door needed not one but two speaker holes. go figure ?
