Great Tip.

Safer than my trial.
I tried the hydrochloric acid, highly corrosive, and flash rusted as soon as rinsed the metal. (experimental use only)

so 1 cup salt to 4L vinegar? I might give it a try.

wonder if it will work on my rusty old joints?

Certainly looks to be quicker than the molasses I'm using. Might set a bin up for quick jobs.

Be careful with Molasses and Alloy parts.
I had a 36 Ariel sidevalve crankcase half with a crankshaft stuck in it that went in a 100% molasses tank and was forgotten about for for 3 weeks.
The crankshaft and bearing was all that was left.
