Yelllo!

So, I've just removed to old spear 0 matic steering column, dropped out the p/s center link and idler arm, got the old steering box out and swore at the car a heap.

Now I've got to decide to go with a manual centre link and idler arm OR retain the p/s stuff and install the brogeson manual steering adapter - as seen here:
http://www.cjponyparts.com/borgeson-man ... 70/p/MSA2/

I'm guessing a manual set up would be better? anyone need any early 67 power steering gear?

To save Mert saying it "rebuilding the original gear is easy and it works well once done correctly".

I recently had a quick drive in a Borgeson power steered car and I liked it - felt ok to me.

The main reason why I've gone down this route was so I could roll with a collapsible steering column. I'd already acquired the borgeson pump and lines for a cool $100.
I'm sure the original stuff is G2G once it's dialed in, but it's not the path I've chosen.

The lot. Have not made that type since 1967 I believe ......

Someone will want it to rebuild for a concourse restoration. Put in the for sale section when you are ready.

Is the early 67 box the same as 65? I have a 65 non P/S ratio box and would like to put the correct ratio one back in as the car does have P/S (or it did have till I ripped it all out).

Ok so below is a quote from Kerry from and old post i put up.

"The steering box you are looking for will have a tag saying HCA-AX , SMB-B (64 1/2 -66) or SMB-J (67)

If you find a SMB-E (late 67) then you can fit a collapsible column to it. All are 16 - 1"

If the box has one of those tags I would be interested in it for my car as long as the sector shaft is the correct diameter for my pitman arm.

yeah I believe it is the same box. I used the wheel of death to remove mine though... so theres a steering box, but there's no longer a steering shaft connected to it....

I'll put what I have up on the "for Sale" section. ill need a few more bucks in the coming weeks for aircon etc..

Oh, so back to the original query - order in manual steering links etc?
