Ordering from NPD

Post by hybrid »

Has anyone shopped with NPD in Aus before?
I placed an order with NPD today for a couple of door lock retainers that I had been trouble finding on their own.

https://www.nationalpartsdepot.com/stor ... t=0&year=0

When I ordered, the shipping came up as zero. Not sure if it's because they are so small/light, or if they will add shipping later.

I didn't agree anywhere for them to add charges later, so I'm a bit worried.

Makes sense now - emailed invoice says "you will be contacted for shipping costs".

Fingers crossed it's not too expensive. They have a depot in Cali, so should be cheap shipping from there.

NPD "foreign orders desk" is Florida. JT is the guy who you deal with (JT Schimborski).

However the mailing costs would be the same (padded bag) by USPS.

Ok no worries. Rare spares sell the clips with locks, same as most other places I looked at.

I order from NPD regularly hybrid. They are great. Quck shipping, don't stuff you around with "back orders". Actual shipping is charged separately but is at good rates and they don't pad the orders with large boxes full of air like some. Usually my orders arrive within 4-5 days.

As Oz said, JT does all the OS stuff, he's efficient, generally orders are picked and sent within a day or overnight. Not a fan of their new online catalogue though, it's harder to use than the previous one.

Cool, thanks mate.
4-5 days is great, but not in a real rush. It's not going to be a fun job!

Make sure to order a catalogue. Very handy book to use as reference for parts and future ordering. I think the code is CAT-M.

NPD are great, and as Rick says, the rates are reasonable.

Both. Great service & quick response to any queries. Prices vary between NPD & Midfifty Autos, but not a lot. Midfifty have a lot more parts for the F100's. Sent JT a enquiry on a couple of parts for the effie at 9pm Sunday & got a reply by first thing next morning. He must sleep there!
