US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Gents,
Not affiliated with the organisers but I have registered with my 1968 Fastback to give it a thrash. Sounds like a good days entertainment and shenanigans!
Regards,
Trav

Hi Gents,
This is pure infiltration of the lowest order, as I do not own a Mustang, however, we are holding an autokhana musclekhana event on Sunday Nov 23rd (Perth, RAC Driving Centre) and I’d like to extend the opportunity for those interested in the Mustang fraternity, as we are looking to get a great mix of muscle/classics racing around.
We initially ran a trial-event earlier this year, Apocalaps v1.0, with much amusement, (check out the vids http://apocalaps.wix.com/apocalaps-#!drinks/c11rf ... but is now being extended into bigger dual skid pan circuit/s with Farmtek laser timing.
It will run approx 9.00am - 4.00pm - to allow for more runs, and will be limited to 30 cars at this stage, to maintain a good flow.
$125 per entrant - but will also require an AASA club license as it is being run under an AASA event permit ($50). CAMS Level 2 & above also accepted.
AASA = Australian Auto-Sport Alliance (out of Winton Raceway). Club license is valid for 12 months.
We will run min. 2 events annually at this stage (hopefully more if we get numbers)
It is open to ANY US Muscle/classics - so Mustangs new or old are welcome, same goes for any other US iron. More criteria on the web page. http://apocalaps.wix.com/apocalaps-
A great way to push your cars limits without being pinged by the fuzz, and if it does get a lil outta shape (and hopefully does) there’s plenty of space to slide around without causing carnage.
Ok enough dribble, offer’s there for any interested parties.
cheers
Justin

That things got some poke!
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
Yeah a few cool vids up and I like it when he speared off the track towards the stopping gates and his children gave him a ribbing. haha
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
That is one over powered mustang. Sounds great though and looks like a lot of fun.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
Re: US Muscle Car Skidpan @ RAC Driving Centre (WA)
I did this in May with the Mach1. Half a day of thrashing or driving around the cones, whatever you want with like minded people. It was organised well and was a great 1/2 day out. there was 9 cars in May and hoping for more this time. Not taking the mustang but will be there with a 68 Roadrunner, skinny tyres and hubcaps:) A lot of fun, and yes the car above in the video has a bit of poke but can you have too much power?

He'll probably get given a set of mower blades to put under it when xmas rolls around - all part of the funtrav68 wrote:Yeah a few cool vids up and I like it when he speared off the track towards the stopping gates and his children gave him a ribbing. haha

Would love to,
Just waiting on getting my export brace / montecarlo bar setup for my baby.
(Its missing at the momet - and I need a special one for the efi conversion...)
Probably shouldn't drive it like that without one !

Repeat of my Tech Section post:
Help,
My voltage reg has died and in the process has cooked my battery. I am booked for the Apocalaps skidpan event tomorrow so would like a functioning car so as to not forfeit.
Anyone have a standard 1968 voltage regulator I can borrow tonight and return sunday or monday night? Preferably NOR near osborne park.
Any help much appreciated and payment in favorite alcholic beverage
Trav
PS turns out 17+ V is too much . haha
