If you're planning on getting one registered and it hasn't been registered in Aus. before; you'll need a weighbridge ticket.

Not all states, here they just ask you what it weighs.

Interesting, I wonder if you had it registered in Perth without ticket, would you need to get a ticket if you tried registering it in NSW.

I will check my rego papers tomorrow and see if the weight is on them, if so my guess is that you should not need a ticket.
Not that it is to big a deal.

Not really but $40 and the hassle to get one is a big deal for some.

That depends on if your fat A is in the car at time of weighing

Are you delerious? seriously???? for that money and that time expenditure...SELL IT NOW...DISCOUNT IT, run like hell man!!!

I'm not saying i agree with the need to run the thing over the scales, the book figures should be good enough given its only a weight class thing, but if you feel 40 bucks and an hour of your time to get the ticket is too much on top of a 25k+ car is too much, then you have issues! It'll be the cheapest thing you EVER do to the car

For me it was a 'get it over with and hurry up and get my rego' issue. I couldn't wait but I definitely know 'types' who whinge about every single payment that goes to the govt. no matter how trivial.

For me the biggest issue was the 40 minute drive without rego, luckily my car arrived with Colorado plates. I actually did a lot of driving around in them getting it ready for rego, one time I had cops waiting at lights across from me at a large intersection, lucky for me they weren't paying attention.

I was even thinking of doing a few red light camera runs in those plates just to stick it to the man. lol.

thanks guys,
its nothing to do with registering the car yet, its not built.
And when time comes not fussed if required to weighbridge.

Current Query is due to fact that in NSW P platers are limited to cars with power to weight ratio .

They are NOT allowed over 130KW per tonne weight.

So before starting need to know. It looks like a stock 2 barrell windsor will technically be under the limits.
Of course by the time the boy gets his learners they may have changed the rules again ( then it will be just bad luck )

Thanks guys.

I agree with Kerry, there are a couple of 6 cylinder coupes around here that go very nicely. They are well balanced and with extractors they sound nice too.
Nice to work on as well.
