On one of my laptops I get the new folders/threads highlighted. On another I only get a listing of the forums, but no new post flags... looked for a setting... did not see one...

Same log in but the one that shows it is Win10 (big mistake upgrading) and the other is Win8.

Anyone else seeing this or know how to set it to show new posts?

It's usually cookies that determine whether posts are read or not.
Are you definitely logged in on the one that's not showing new posts?

If so, you can try clearing cookies for this website from the broken machine.

On the subject of Win10... I think it's good. Win8 was horrible.

You likely need to clear the cache. Which browser are you using?

On IE you hold down the Cntl-F5 key and refresh will do a non-cache read. It differs on other web browsers.

In addition, with the recent upgrade the site has tried to go HTML5 (badly in places but they will get there) so a modern web browser is needed to read the markup correctly. I would suggest Firefox or Chrome (on win10 you have Edge). I am using Firefox for this site on win 10 (Yep - yuck on that choice).

Edit: Hybrid - good point I missed.

Have cleared cache, deleted all internet history (even passwords and then log in manually, no change), etc. Will continue tinkering, thanks for the tips. Have tried Chrome and Firefox, etc, but generally use IE as its the same as our IT use on work machines (consistency of format/use)

As for 10/8, (or IE/Chrome/FF)I guess its a "what color do you like".

OT rant... on 😊 Personally I loathe Edge, after months of using it and trying to give it a go, and just the overall layout/look-and-feel of 10. Looks like it was designed for a six year old, very bloated look and "cartoon-ish layout to me)

Just wish they would put in a setting for "leave it looking like the old version" as to me the primary changes are purely cosmetic (why right click on start for some functions, but the old program list for others, idiotic change for changes sake), and changing colors and icons... whoopee.... I see nothing of value in it for me (a matrix of programs on screen I do not use and don't care about is the most irksome) and its just as slow and clunky as IE on Win8.

But years from now when they bring out "Windows Wow V23x.32.a-r2" (new colors, a revised screen layout.. to move the same commands to new lists/pop-ups and changing icons and colors are the primary "enhancements") I'll have adapted to 10, and will hate the new version then!

Ok.. rant off! 😎

I agree on the start button bringing up a bunch of crap I never use. But I like that the start menu is back.
The problem is, MS are trying to make a single O/S for devices from PCs to tablets to phones.
Unfortunately, they are completely different devices, so IMO one size fits all is a terrible idea.

But that's exactly why 10 looks the way it does. It's meant to be good for touch screens, but I am not a fan.
Aesthetics aside, it's a good operating system, and they are introducing a lot of good security features that are long overdue.

Yep, in my work (engineering) our corporate management has the same concept. Simplistic one-size-fits-all concepts to accommodate a wide range of industries, projects, users, roles, and requirements... doomed to failure (or just mediocrity).

Forcing a screen and commands one can view on a 34" curved monitor (or even your home wide screen TV) down to a hand held... kinda limits both.

Just keep in mind that HTML standard (plus associated CSS, JavaScript etc) has moved along. So Edge is Microsoft's offering for HTML 5 (IE is dead), so FF or Chrome are both being maintained hence HTML 5 compatible. Choose your poison.

Edit: Note that most even in Commercial circles I work in, are moving to Chrome as their standard browser.

Also agree that edge is horrible.
It may well be a good enough browser, but it just looks terrible. It hardly feels like you have even opened a web browser.

Works for me. Just click on the grey box and you will see the original text.
