While in CA this year, I cut the rust in a 54 VW ragtop.

It WAS a nice car when parked (they all say that, along with "ran when new" ..... )







My friend Bob (who now owns the car) was able to source the correct pats made for the 54 in Bogota Columbia (of all places). They were a perfect fit, not like the other parts that were "one size fits all" & really took some beating into shape.

This is the result after 8 days work (start at 09:30, lunch 13:00 - 14:00 & knock off at 16:00 ..... ) .........

There you go again, rescuing a basket case to life... It actually looks good without the guards.

I gather you spun dry that red sucker to achieve that effect

It was cold out that day.

That's just all that was left once the rust was removed.

During the Summer months, he uses that short dub as his daily driver. Scares the crap out of people as he passes them on the freeways, bloody thing is quick (& dangerous) ......

We have color on the 54. Iceland Green is the color .........
