So I upgraded to MSExtra 3.4.2
Hi,
Since I have the luxury of 2 Microsquirts I installed the backup one and upgraded it to 3.4.2 from 3.2.5.
The idle is a LOT better and it seemed to keep my VE AFR and IGN maps as well as all the ITB mode stuff.
What I did seem to lose is my Accelerator Enrichment. The car now bogs on a standing start and goes way lean. Any big movements in throttle just don't get the fuel they need. My graphs are still there but they aren't doing the job. Can someone share their 3.4.2 accelerator settings please?

Interesting. I think most of the positives came from the 3.3 code base as this is where I noticed a lot of the idle improvements from the 3.2 branch (and earlier). I am currently on 3.3.3a and have not bothered to go to 3.4.2 . I am happy to show you my Accel graph if it would help.
Note: Hybrid could have gone to 3.4.2 given his hardware changes recently.

You might hear from hybrid tonight, however at the moment he is immersed in brandy .........boofhead wrote: Note: Hybrid could have gone to 3.4.2 given his hardware changes recently.

I went 3.4.2 a while back. Ill try get a screenshot before i headout but im sure hybrid would have some input as he is the gun!

It's been a while since I upgraded, but I seem to recall changes to accel enrichment also.
Mine is not perfect - I'd say it's 90% there, but it should give you a starting point anyway.
I'm using all TPS and no MAP.
From memory when the car is running, there is a telltale in TS so you can work out the value of MAP or TPS change that is generated by you pressing the throttle in a normal accel situation. You can use that value to decide where to add fuel. I decided to use 100% TPS because I thought it should react quicker than MAP seeing as it's tied directly to your foot.
Obviously this millisecond value is very dependent on your injector size. I'm running 36lb in mine.
It will also be a bit dependent on your idle AFR. I'm running at about 13.5. If you're richer, you might not need as much accel, but if you're leaner, you might need more.

You probably don't care, but for the record, accel enrichment is like the accelerator pump in a carby. It configures an amount of extra fuel to be injected when you first put your foot down.

Mate, I do care and I actually enjoy what you guy's are doing. Sort of wish I continued on that path in the early nineties but being a lazy bastard I stuck with carbs.hybrid wrote:nassi wrote:Oh oooh, here we go again. The mad scientists are back.

Wolf was the ecm of choice back then.
Re: So I upgraded to MSExtra 3.4.2
Inject the Effie.. So much room in there
Re: So I upgraded to MSExtra 3.4.2
That is only tiny amount of fuel injected at 2ms and also requiring 90%/s TPS to start it.
My setup is quite different. Not that it matters if it work then great.
BTW: Are you using EAE as well - maybe that answers it.

Re: So I upgraded to MSExtra 3.4.2
Yeah I'm running EAE, but I don't know if that is doing most of the work or not.
Next time I'm mucking around with it I will have another look at accel, and maybe sort out that final 10%.
