More 3G trackers

For those of you who are looking for a 3G tracker, don't pull the pin on a Meitrack T333, or the T333 from that other Aussie mob.
I'm looking into another option at the moment that I hope will come in cheaper.

I'm going to try and get a sample to see what they are like, and to see if I can write some code for the Mustrack website to talk to them.

The T333 is great, so if you already have one it's all good.

No probs Tim.
I'm going to get a sample sent out in the next few days hopefully.

I've been given a copy of the server protocol and it's got some similarities to the current Meitrack protocol, so I should be able to write code to suit, and should also be able to add support in the Meitricks Android app - although now the name doesn't quite make sense
It will take me a few weeks to get the tracking server and the app talking to the new devices once I have one in my hand.

Considering the price of the T333 from Meitricks, I should be able to do these considerably cheaper. Hopefully they are as good as they look/sound.

If all goes well, they should be no more than $150.

Booked in via DHL.... should arrive next week some time hopefully!
Picked up a $2 sim today, so when it gets here I will just put a months worth of charge on it, at whatever the cheapest rate is.

Hopefully it looks something like this:

Got the new tracker checking in to the server today to report it's location and status.
Next I will work on the commands and alerts, then it will be ready to put in a car for testing.

I've changed the location popup bubble on the Mustrack (and Meitricks) websites to show both the current state of the ignition (ON/OFF), and also whether it's enabled or disabled via SMS/GPRS command. So if your car won't start, you can check whether the tracker is killing it.
