Engine Parts Selection Tech Article

Post by boofhead »

I have been working, for some time, on an in depth article on engine building for the mustang tech web site. This was intended to be a benefit to the group and a thanks to Hybrid. It has turned into a larger project than I had first intended. So I have split it into two parts - the first is titled

"Parts selection for a street performance 302 Windsor engine"

I will be performing a check of the sections and then slowly release them over the next few weeks. The installment is now in the tech section under engines. I really hope you find it helpful, it does get quite technical though I try my best to keep it on a reasonable level to be understood by all. I am keen to get feedback, questions and constructive comments. You are allowed not to agree though I ask you to be nice about it please. Enjoy the article.

Note: There will be typos, grammar issues and poor structure. I have tried my best - it is what it is. I will improve it as we move forward.

Tech section under engines.

It is far from all there as yet. I will check over the next section and release at part by part as I make progress through the text. It is rather long but I hope it is helpful to the group now and well into the future.

Another who has not read it, but I thank you for your time and effort.
Most people have to pay for information like that.

By the way boof, if you want we can create a sticky Q&A topic that you can link to in the article for people wanting to discuss it.
If we do it, we should keep it strictly on topic (the only thread that will ever be on topic here  ) so people can easily find info in it.

The final line from the first page ........ "The success of a build is often more of a result from good planning with consideration of all aspects of the goals and intended use of the vehicle."

That is the sign of a good lecture, (1) tell them what you are trying to impart, (2) tell them & then finally, (3) tell them again.

I get on my soapbox a bit (OK maybe a lot) & that highlighted sentence above is what I aim to preach often, in fact, probably daily ......... :$

Well composed boof, thank you for making the effort to enhance this wonderful spot on the web ......

Good luck with that ...... 8O

Maybe we could ask a couple of admins from "another place" to keep that one on the straight & narrow ...... :rotfl2:

Thank very much - It has been a tremendous amount of work. Worth it,
It a relief that it is basically done, Pleased with the result though It will be good to a break from it.

Note: I have an FAQ section at the end of the article. One question as a filler at the moment.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Very nice work Boof. For a non-technical person (me), I can understand what you have written. That is the first test a good article must pass.
