Hi guys,
I'm after some tech advice. I've got a 4 speed auto from a AU in the 66. It's a 2002 BTR box, oz made. Does anyone know, installed an aftermarket shifter. All kits say AOD and c4 ect.
Cheers

Re: Automatic shifter help
Is it a looks thing, ie you want it to look a bit more oldschool?
Because you can use the BA shifter with the btr. They sell a chrome plate for the top and a chrome shifter covering, looks pretty good. It what I had before I got rid of it.
There is also a guy in melbourne that makes up an electronic kit, really easy to wire in, it allows the use of the sports sequential shift that ba's-fg's had.

Yes, I want the old school look something like the B and M or TCI type shifter....
However, if it can't be done, I shall look at the BA shift, husky..

Re: Automatic shifter help
You can modify the stock mustang C4 shifter to operate the BTR. A bit if cutting and welding will do it.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

I am with Boof, cutting and welding and you can do anything.
"The simple answer is, even if I have decided I still don't know what to do."
Re: Automatic shifter help
So, do you think it's a mater of changing the tab on the gearbox to make it shift correctly. Most aftermarket shifters seem to be compatible with either the c4 or aod.
