I been looking into chamber shapes and piston top designs and found a modern example that you might be interested in viewing
This is designed for direct injection applications... the future.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Interesting design, 3 stages of the same piston...? much easier to put the required shape into the piston than the head..

It is three designs for various compression targets using the same (sized) cylinder head.

Looks a bit like Mercury 2 stroke outboard loop charge pistons
