Anyone care to share their experiences or views on what's a good repro hood latch for a 68?
Mines missing and the old OEM ones I've seen are all buggered.
Dynacorn's are bright zinc and the CJ's no names are black.
(I'd be painting mine close as I can to OEM phosphate anyway)
Both get mixed reviews on webstores.
Thanks in advance.

What is up with yours? I refurb any I get.
I carry the springs they take too.
Remember ther is a difference between 67 & 68 hood latches.

Re: Best repro 68' hood latch?
Thanks Kerry, however per my first post; mine is missing.
My car came with a 1994 build NOS hood, still in its FORD box, so possibly the PO junked the old latch with the old hood.
Likewise I would probably have rebuilt mine if I had one. A wrecker in VIC offered me an old one, but very rusty and completely buggered working parts wise too, and he wanted silly money for what was junk.
Yup before posting I did read the 68 has a longer catch than early 67's. I understand they made the change midway through the 67 run.
If someone has a decent 68' hood latch they are willing to sell, I'd be interested.
I have seen original ones on eBay USA, all needing work of course. But I figured if I was buying from there and if they were any good, then it's far cheaper to buy new as part of another order from NPD, CJ's or whoever. The shipping on that one old part costs almost as much as the latch...

Well Christmas came early. A bud in TX saw my post and is sending me a restored one he had in his stocks!
In truth he owed me for dinner in San Antonio, so I guess we're even now.
Thanks for the replies anyway.
