Really really sweet looking ride equus. So envious. Is underneath as nice as on top?? Are you happy with it?? I'm thinking it would be hard not to be
(PRAYER) Oh thank you Wild Turkey American Honey & Cola in those small thin bottles, for giving me the strength to act like a half wit, and say stupid things at inappropriate times, semi-anonymously, on a public forum.
Amen.

Thanks for the comments,
she does look sweet.
The undersides need some TLC but i am very happy.

Under the hood is a 302 with Edelbrock carby , rare Ford racing inlet manifold( looks like that when i decoded the numbers) , Hooker headers, Cobra sump and Toploader. It requires a good tune and tidy up.
There is an issue with the brakes which i will concentrate on once the rear end is re-assembled.
Here is a pic which does not do the exterior justice..

Thanks Cage,
did a few little things yesterday - fitted the trunk weatherseal and staerted peeling back the Dynamat on the trunk floor. Used the 3M weatherstrip adhesive from Repco . Considering my first try it went well. i could of let it tack off alittle longer , but overall only a few smears of adhesive which i will clean off.

As you can see there is a fair amount of surface rust but no holes as yet....

Hi Guys,
finally an update- diff was shortened and re-installed but rear brake lines where for a single system so changed rear hose and new bundy tubing.

Moving forward handbrake was made functional as the lever, spring and equalizer where missing.

Front brakes where next - undersized rotors and seized caliper pistons no wonder it was a little difficult to stop :(
New rotors , bearings , rebuilt calipers, pads , hose and fluid and i have a functioning braking system

Fitted seat belts and windscreen washer bag, hose and nozzles- i need to wire the pumpo as the wire from the switch seems absent.

Lastly i need the fit the external mirrors. the dilemma is that i purchased rotunda style bullet racing mirrors. The holes on the drivers side door were filled but not on the passenger side. Unfortunately the mirror bases are smaller than the original style that were one the care.

Do i sell they mirrors and buy original style ones or does anyone know of a less invasive way of filling the holes without repraying the door. ( i do have a little left over paint)

thanks

Rob

Hi Rob, a bit late now but I bought the long base bullet mirrors, the holes still dont line up but the base is long enough to cover the extra hole.
You may be able to sell your others and still have the same look.
Just a thought
cheers.

To fill the holes is easy. If the holes are 3mm or smaller in dia, then using a large plumbers soldering iron you can solder the holes up after recessing them a little & cleaning them (& chamfering) with a drill or die grinder.

If the holes are larger, clean & tin the underside & solder a small tinned plate & while having an assistant hold it up from underneath, fill with solder. Once cooled, file it off & repaint that section.

No buckling will occur as it does not get hot enough.

As you can see that fuel line is a little suspect as they have connected it to a an electric pump. Will attend to that shortly.
