EM - Ported cylinder heads

Good one - I agree with the conclusions but some will get the wrong idea about the dual plane manifold.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Yeah I liked that one. I'm sure my "as cast" Dart Pro1's could benefit from a bit of work.
But... can't be arsed right now.

There is a lot to get out of that video; They do simplify leaving out details
1) They know they need alot more air as those RPM heads are a major choke point for those cubes.
2) They know the dual plane manifold is also a choke point once the heads are ported so they go to a super victor manifold (see my article for flow estimates) and even then port it to further flow (as they should for those cubes).
3) They are using a big flat tappet cam (yuck) and the dyno shows with the higher flow the cam can work properly as it moves the RPM much further up the range (as you need to for more hp).
4) Conclusions are spot on. Bad parts match up to a better parts match up.

I know the dual plane will choke it if it was used. Tq (maybe) and HP down and lower RPM.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

You have a nice set up - more boost then I would look to better or ported heads otherwise it is a good set up as it is.

Like he said buy the best heads you can! with Hybrids car if he ports the heads he'll find the boost pressure will drop due to the high flow. Heads and intake are also Rod's 69ish's problem 195 darts are way too small for a 408. I think that engine would pick up similar numbers to this one with some 225cc heads and a victor.
