Wiper harness

Post by 66STNG »

Hi guys,
me again on the bludge for some information from the table of knowledge. I have a wiper harness that for a 4 wire ( supposed to be 2 speed) wiper motor. The 4 pin plug fits the motor, however I can't locate where the 2 green female spade lugs and 1 black male spade lug goes... a wiring diagram for the 2 speed wiper motor suggests that it goes to the wiper motor through a contact but I can't locate it. Any help would be good, preferable the correct answer.

Yeah my wiper motor has contact on it for the park function. The spade connectors should be located on the body of the motor within a plastic doohickey.
I think that orange wire with the bullet connector on it is what provides permanent 12V for it.

The green wires provide power to the motor to park it, then the switch they connect to opens once the wipers are parked.

Yup, it doesn't look like that one. However I think that is a 1 speed wiper motor (only 3 wire plug). I bought a 2 speed wiper and has 4 wire plug, the new 2 speed harness also has a 4 pin plug, but there is no consctions on the cover as yours has??? That is where the green wires are supposed to go. I don't have them, d ones anyone know if the 67 onwards has a remote park up? Or if he 2 speed wiper motor has these doohickies

Ok, my wires do not come from the rear of the motor they are up closer to the gear section???? And still no connections on the doohickie

Not the best picture, but you can see the wires going into the motor.. at the opposite end of where they are supposed to be, you can se the cover has no connection points

I wonder if he sold me a 67 2 speed motor, as it has no connections for the park, and the wires come out where mine are?

Certainly looks like it. Maybe the park mechanism is built into the later ones. I'm not sure.

All internal. Looks like a 67/8 motor to me.

Remember the switch is part of the circuit. two speed motors and single speed switch will cause grief.
And I thought all the wiper motors had internal park switch. Hence why the motor needs to match the switch.
