Upgrade starter motor
I have read the tech article, http://www.mustangtech.com.au/Content/pid=19.html
Does anyone have a seller on eBay they have used when buying a replacement starter motor. I am over the starting issues I have been having. I have looked at a few sellers but they can sound so different in what they are offering.
Mine is a standard 289.

Re: Upgrade starter motor
Kerry got one from Repco at trade price that was similar to the $150 I got mine for.
This mob is selling it for $183 inc postage:

As long as the part number is right, you should be fine. Just make sure it's Bosch and not a knockoff.

I got one from that Sparesbox mob a few months ago for $164. While their price has gone up, their service and communication was good and postage was free.

With multimeter?
Re: Upgrade starter motor
Yep... you should have 13.5 - 14v measured at the battery while the engine is running.

Re: Upgrade starter motor
What does tapping the solenoid do, does that bring it back to life
Re: Upgrade starter motor
They get stuck sometimes.
Re: Upgrade starter motor
Yeah my solenoid has been getting stuck pretty consistantly now. Only after it has been sitting at home for a bit, seems to be fine after a short stop. I make sure I have a hammer in the car now.
Re: Upgrade starter motor
I would check the solenoid before the starter.
