Mustangtech Bathurst Clubhouse...

Land clearing and earthworks have begun in preparation for the new shed/mancave construction later this month.

Priority will be given to housing the fam whilst the house is built, but we are looking good for a group get together for the big race next year.

Could even be some warm up events during the year if things go well.

Specs so far:

6 car spaces with mancave at one end and caravan/tractor cave at the other.

17.5 meters wide x 10 meters deep.

3 phase power

Man shower/shithouse

Pot belly stove plus all creature comforts that a dedicated man area should have.

Feel free to throw in some ideas.

Awesome plans.

Hope you have enough height for mezzanine storage plus spots for a hoist or two.

Underfloor heating area for visitors swags to roll out on? :-)

Awesome Astro - I am excited for you and can't wait to see how it goes!

A few suggestions I can think of:

Creature comforts:
Toilet, shower, microwave, refrigerator, TV, clothes washer/dryer and maybe even a dish washer with a small kitchen area and kitchen cabinets.

Shop:
1. Air drops in handy places with reel hoses
2. Plenty of electrical outlets and some in the ceiling to drop down for the car lifts
3. Concrete floor 12 inches thick, reinforced or whatever is recommended for heavy loads in your area
4. TV
5. Insulate walls and roof
6. shop sink for washing up
7. plenty of LED lights - saves power and are brighter
8. garage door opener

You probably already have, but draw out your floor plan and then get the dimensions of all the stuff you want to put in there and place them on the floor plan to check for work flow and other space saving ideas. (where to put the lifts, air compressor location, etc.)

BTW: Girly posters recommended, but wherever you put them the wife will notice right away. :impatient:

20m x 12m x 3m min walls (enough height for the hoist)
6 inches of concrete except under the hoist, do at least 8 there, think from memory free floor hoists need 6 as a min... Steve will know...
forget 3 phase you wont need it, but price it anyway just for a fright...
can get insulation cheap..
Be my friend for free for a couple of weeks and I'll find some led high bays..
If your going to do your own potbelly i'll send you a 90ltr gas tank for 1 weeks friendship,....no make that 2.

Insulation is in due to being in snow country, not putting a hoist in as there’s a dozen at work although I may put a single lift in so I can do basic maintenance and cleaning.

Bringing 3 phase in 220 mtrs from boundary at a cost of 12k, just working out the lighting and where the power points are going.

Have to look at work benches and storage options also - almost as bad as designing a house...

Make the benches like mine, wheels at one end and you can move with the floor jack.

Quick update:
Had to sack the shed company's concreter for missing two deadlines and not putting piers in.
The house builder came to the rescue, slab has 15 drilled in now with the 6 on the back end down into solid ground.
Slab to be poured in the morning with shed construction starting Monday with a week building time.
Plumbing for the mancave bathroom and watertank complete.
240 meter trench to bring 3 phase power from the boundary should be finished tomorrow.
Electrical plan for shed finished - may just have to do the minimum before xmas.
