66 roof bows

Post by 66STNG »

Hi guys,
Are the roof bows different from a 67 to a 66. I test installed the bows in my 66 and when you spin them up, they hit the roof. The rear one does not line up with the rear clips either. Just wandering if I've got the wrong ones.
Cheers

Further to this, three bows LOOK. The same but when lined up are slightly different, there is one with red on the tip, the others have nothing?

I've seen that video, it only says to put them in the same way they came out...... I never had a liner in the car and don't know how they came out.....
Does anyone know the positions of the bows?????

Three of the bows should be the same and 1 longer one. The red goes in position 1,2or3 from the front and the other one (blue) to the rear.
From memory mine had a three of holes for each bow location and I think I chose the lowest holes for the bows.

That's what I have read about the three being the same, my three are slightly different and when you install them they all hit the roof.....

They are supposed to hit the roof. When you stretch it after anchoring the rear it will pull the bows down a bit but will still hit the roof .

Nuts,
That's not such a bad idea. There are sooooo many things I would do different.
I've got the rear and front glued and it looks ok.... we will see if all the wrinkles pull out when the do the sides. I think they will, ??????????

Slow work and fiddle but it's getting there, the front rear and sides are glued and look ok. Next the side bits... wish me luck.

Not great pictures. The pegs are there only after the glue set, I used bulldog clips as the pegs didn't have a great deal of tension on them..
