Paint advice
Hi guys,
Getting close to the end of the build and need some advise re paint
.
The paint is clear over base with the usual orange peel and a couple of nibs of dust.
.
Do I wet rub the whole car with 2000 then polish, buff ect. This scares me as I don't want to rub the clear....
Or do I just cut and polish with compound, polish and buff.
.
Thoughts.....

Re: Paint advice
Get on to Wax-it and buy the 3 stages of Scholl concepts, thinks S3 S7 and S20? and 3 colours of Lake country pads. orange, white, black. the S3 scholl will take out 1500 scratches in a about 3 mins best compound I've seen. Rub the car with a soft block and soapy water. 1500 or 2000.
Re: Paint advice
Without knowing how much clear you've got to play with, it's hard to say what can be done.
The guy that painted it should have an idea how much clear is on it so that would be my starting point.

If you don't have a decent random orbital buff, here's a good kit:

Painter is no longer in the game and I cannot locate him, he WAS going to complete the job, ie wet rub and buff, but I'm a big pussy and I'm scared to rub with scratchy stuff...

Re: Paint advice
Do you at least know what paint he used? Another crash shop using the same paint system can flowcoat it for you.
The other option is to speak to a couple of the pro detailers in your area. Waxit and ZAS can likely recommend some good ones for you that are capable to do it right.

The paint is PROTEC Para glaze..
I'm not keen on flow coating the car just want to know the best way to buff it up.

Give ZAS (1300 599 616) or Waxit (03 9330 2177) a call then.
Both shops will probably know people in your area that can do a great job for you.
I'm a bit far away, otherwise I'd happily do it for you.

Re: Paint advice
How long ago was it painted?
It will need some time to shrink back and cure properly first, especially if it wasn't baked.
